Chipotle used Eco-Cem® by CoveringsETC to design its restaurants from the inside out, reinforcing its “cultivate a better world” positioning.

Just as we believe sustainability is about actions, Chipotle also has commitments to the environment:

  • One of the first national restaurant brands to commit to goals on local and organic produce.
  • First national restaurant brand to commit to using only responsibly raised meat with some of the highest animal welfare standards.
  • Commit to divert 50% of Chipotle waste from landfills during 2020.
  • In 2018, Chipotle began a program recycling used plastic gloves into waste bags that we use in 43% of our very own restaurants.
As the chairman and CEO of Chipotle, Brian Niccol, said “Sustainability is and always will be a strategic priority for Chipotle. I, along with the rest of the organization, strongly believe that how we grow our food is how we grow our future”. And this is how the union of purposes results in a responsible, inspiring, but also practical design: with a non-combustible material (fire safe), sound insulating, humidity resistant and to extreme temperatures and frost, impact resistant and also resistant to many chemicals, it’s everything a restaurant needs. Our Eco-Cem® is one of our most versatile products. It can be used at an Exterior Façade, Flooring, Counters, Walls, and Industrial Design.
